Miss Oliver.
Before Miss Oliver left for Africa Room 8 students all made a small New Zealand gift for her to give to students in South Africa. She made friends with a teacher in Cape Town who handed out these neat gifts to her class. Here are some pictures of them enjoying their New Zealand presents. Lets hope we can continue the friendship with this class and learn about the cultural differences between NZ and South Africa via email, letters and photos. .

Term Two 2012
Welcome back to Term Two Room 8!!!
Firstly apologies for the delayed post at the beginning of this term. I have been trying to upload the camp photos through the programme photo bucket, however it has only just decided to work :)
Enjoy the slideshow there is a small selection up at the moment. I will add all photos as soon as it allows me too!
We had a fantastic week at camp at the end of last term. Thank you very much for your awesome enthusiasm! There were many challenges throughout the week and it was pleasing to see everyone giving everything a go.
We have been working hard over the past two weeks.
- Creating magnificent camp letters for our wonderful parent helpers.
- Acting out a selection of photos from camp for our assembly performance this week.
- Brainstorming ideas for our Science Fair projects that are to be presented later this term.
REMEMBER make sure your science fair involves ideas around an area that you are passionate about! It will make it alot more worthwhile and relevant once you have completed it.
Enjoy the slide show below. Fingers crossed it works :)
I am looking forward to collecting in your homework this morning.
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Oliver :)
Week Four - UPDATE
Hello Room 8,
We are already near the end of week four, how fast has this term gone??
I have been very impressed with our work so far in Room 8. We have some AWESOME jandals up on the front wall, NEAT buntings potraying our summer holidays and MAGNIFICENT Mihi's waiting to go up on the new wire. This week we discussed the importance of FEB 22nd 2011. The class discussions were fantastic and we shared many memories and stories about the tragic event.
SCHOOL TRIATHLON is scheduled for tomorrow morning. GOOD LUCK to everyone who is competing. I hope all your hard training helps tomorrow! Fingers crossed the day clears and the sun is shining tomorrow.
A VERY WARM WELCOME to Lily Etuati! She has completed one week at BALMAC and has already settled in nicely :) We are looking forward to your help with our class SASA. This week at school we began our Y8 Sasa practice. Lily showed us all the tradtional calls and moves for the Samoan dance. Now we need to start organising our own class sasa for the assembly performance on Friday 9th March.
I hope everyone has had a lovely week, best of luck for the triathlon and have an enjoyable weekend.
